James J. McGuire appointed to Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Contract & Business Cases

On July 12, 2023, Thomas & LoCicero partner James J. McGuire was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court as a member of the Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Contract & Business Cases. 

The Committee is responsible for preparing standard jury instructions to be used in Florida state courts for various contract and business trials, including defamation cases.  “I’m excited to be involved in this important work,” Mr. McGuire stated, “particularly because the Florida Standard Jury Instructions on Defamation Cases are in need of substantial revision and correction.”
