Beyond serving as attorneys and counselors, TLo attorneys also serve as mediators and arbitrators. Gregg D. Thomas and Jon M. Philipson are Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediators, and they also serve as Florida Court-Appointed Arbitrators for Florida’s Thirteenth, Twelfth, and Sixth Judicial Circuits.. Jon is also a Florida Court-Appointed Arbitrator for Florida’s Thirteenth, Twelfth, and Sixth Judicial Circuits. The TLo Tampa office can also serve as a location for mediations and arbitrations.

As former federal judicial law clerks and seasoned civil and commercial litigators in large firms and boutique firms, Gregg and Jon bring pragmatic and sensible ideas and well-honed skills to narrow issues and empower parties to find collaborative solutions to end their litigation.

Gregg is best known for his work in defamation law, invasion of privacy, and constitutional claims, along with his real-world experience in many other fields, including business torts, contracts, deceptive and unfair trade practices, non-competition agreements, trade secrets, RICO, and Section 1983 actions. Gregg brings his experiences as a law firm founder, business owner, and private board member to bear to facilitate resolutions. Having mediated dozens of “bet the farm” cases, involving multi-party claims, Gregg is equipped to resolve any matter.

To bring parties together, Jon uses his broad complex civil litigation experience and analytical skills as a congressional aide, judicial law clerk, business owner, and litigator. His broad-based litigation practice enables him to mediate a wide range of issues, including, complex civil litigation, antitrust, class actions, shareholder derivative suits, insurance coverage disputes (including D&O disputes), defamation law, business torts, contract disputes, real estate disputes, discrimination suits, non-compete agreements, deceptive and unfair trade practices, torts, breaches of contract, lease disputes, shopping center disputes, buyout disputes, and many others.

Jon also previously received the national James B. Boskey Award from the American Bar Association’s Section of Dispute Resolution for the best dispute resolution article in the country.
